What settings should I start with?
For content images, 1600px max dimension at 75–80% quality is a strong default. Hero images can go 2400px. Adjust per use and re-run — it's free.
Why compress before upload if my CMS optimizes images?
CMS optimization helps, but it can't recover time lost uploading 8MB originals, storage bloat, or plugins' processing limits. Lean sources make everything downstream better.
